    [Solved] How to fix the missing Address bar

    Quick TIP to Resolve disappeared URL bar

    Every Browser behaves strange including Google Chrome. I had an instance where address bar went missing and I had no clue how to bring it back. Funny isn't it! How will you search google query to fix the problem. (Ofcourse! you can try another browser :) ).
    Below are the solution which you can try to resolve the disappeared URL Address Bar
    • Browser has full screen mode and you might have pressed F11 to take your browser to full screen mdoe. Press the F11 key to exit fullscreen mode. The address bar is not visible when the Internet browser is in fullscreen mode.
    • In case you are 'stuck' with  IE - Internet Explorer, then you have to  click the  View or Tools in the menu bar  which will can be seen at the top of the browser window screen, then  click on Toolbars, then select Address or Address bar. If the Menu bar is missing, press the Alt key to make it visible.
    • Alternate way would be to find the Add-ons OR Extensions which you might have installed in your browser which must have set the address bar/ URL bar hidden. With trial-error method can can find out which add-on has caused it and keep it Disabled. You can click here to know more about - How to remove Browser Extension
    • Finally, if none of the above g33ktricks does not work, the browser must have gone bad and Uninstalling and the re-install should fix the issue for sure.

    6 simple tips on how to improve your email communications

    Tips on how to write Emails

    Tips on Writing Email

    I had never thought I would write something about how to write an email in this blog. But recently came across few necessary tips on writing email and thought about sharing them here.
    We do all write emails, to our friends, family and mostly for our official communications .Yet, we do not actually worry much about how we write them.
    I have got few tips for you on writing emails to the point and not letting the email reader or recipient confuse on why it was actually written.

    Tip #1:
    Does your mail pass the "So What?" question

     Emails are written with a specific reason in mind. While writting you need to keep it concise and enough information for the reader so that they wont get lost. To make more sense out of your email, re-read your email once its drafted completely and ask yourself, does it answer "So What?" question. From reader's perspective: 'you told me all these info in your mail, so what?", ' do I need to do something about it or take any action item' , 'or will you be doing something about it?'
    Make sure you address this information in your mail and change the information as needed.

    Tip #2:
    Change the Adjectives to Actual Data

    Noone likes half cooked information! And if you are just vaguely saying, 'Sometimes it happens' OR 'Few of the items..' OR ' it had improved and its faster now..' , you are trying to express something but not enough to impress. If you dont give the data points with the information, it's not going to leave a major impact on the readers mind. Data is important while you express the staus.
    It would make more sense if you say ' The quarterly results have seen surge of 40%' instead of 'We have improved the quartely results'

    Tip #3:
    Actually... not to use them

    Continuing to Tip number 2, do not use the fillers like "Actually", "Basically", "Generally". They don't make much sense and adds vagueness to the writing. If you can put data here that is well and good, if not, try not to use them at all.

    Tip #4:
    Listen to your Active Voice

    The active voice sentence are described as sentenses where the subject performs the action stated by the verb. It follows a clear Subject + Verb + Object (SVO) construct that's easy to read.  The more you complicate the sentense, the more confusing it would sound to the reader.

    Tip #5:
    Explain the short-forms

    Remember to explicitly explain the short forms when writting them for the first time. For Example, if you are using a jargon CPR , CPC, CTM try to explain elaborate them if needed or mention the fullform next to them like Clickthrough rate (CTR), Cost-per-click (CPC), Cost-per-thousand (CPM).
    It would not confuse them and would help the reader understand it better.

    TIP #6:
    30 or Less

    Last but the important tip, try to keep the word count in a sentence under 30. Its not a rule of thumb but just a precautionary measure. If you want to write something like, "due to the fact that.." you can easily replace it with "because..".
    You do not want to have a sentence like below one from the book "Blindness" which itself is 97 words long. If such sentenses are included in the mail, the reader might get lost in the words and might have to re-re-read to understand it.

    Jose Saramago, “Blindness.” 97 words:

    “On offering to help the blind man, the man who then stole his car, had not, at that precise moment, had any evil intention, quite the contrary, what he did was nothing more than obey those feelings of generosity and altruism which, as everyone knows, are the two best traits of human nature and to be found in much more hardened criminals than this one, a simple car-thief without any hope of advancing in his profession, exploited by the real owners of this enterprise, for it is they who take advantage of the needs of the poor.”

    Few more quick one line tips before I wind-up this post...
    • A meaningful subject line.
    • Identify yourself.
    • Be kind.
    • Write it precise.
    • Always Proofread before sending.
    • Don’t assume that your email will be not be forwarded/shared.
    • Seperate formal and informal situations.
    • Show Respect and Restraint.
    • Prompt Response.
    • And add the senders names (i.e To list) only after proofreading

    Do let me know if you like this post in the comments and share some other Tips if you've.

    Easy Trick to hack Google Chrome TRex Dino Jump game

    Hack the Dino Jump Chrome Game

    I am 100% sure that you must have seen this screen if you are a Chrome user. Yes, I am talking about the "No Internet" screen where you see
    "ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED" error message along with a nice black and white TRex.
    T-rex Dino jump game chrome hack auto mode

    If you have seen it, you would also knew that, on hitting Space-bar button, the Trex jumps and an offline, inbuild game starts. Apparently, the game name is Jump the Dino TRex. This game is all fun to play while you wait for your internet connectivity to return back. You can play if for hours, if you keep your concentration full and do not make mistake by jumping or ducking at the wrong time.

    If so, you feel to keep playing this game till the end, you can complete it on your own tirelessly forever or you can try hacking this game with two simple methods.
    Either you enable autoplay or you become immortal. Immortality is boon that game developers use to test the games.
    So how about trying immortality in the game.

    First things first, how to start this game when you have Internet already.
    Simply enter "chrome://dino" in to the Google Chrome URL, the game would launch. Another way to do this is, you need to know is "Inspect Element" feature which all the browser usually have for inspecting items of the  apps/ websites. To open this feature, right click anywhere on the browser and you would notice the dropdown menu has Inspect option OR you can try CTRL+SHIFT+I  / CTRL+SHIFT+C to open this menu.

    Among the different tabs, Click on Network Tab, Click on Offline option from the list.
    This would launch the Dino game.

    Trick to hack Dino game starts here

    While in the game, in the same Inspect element screen, Click on Console option.

    Runner.prototype.gameOver = function(){}

    And Press Enter. This would result in No Game Over scenario. Check the screenshot above. The Dino just passed-by the cactus plant without the need of Jumping over it. But it ain't fun watching the dino passby without jumping so lets move to another trick.

    The second G33ktrick which I was trying to explain was Auto-Play. If you want to try out AutoPlay where Dino jumps on its own, enter the below code as-is to the Console and press Enter. Refer the below screenshot from the Chrome Browser.
    Let the game go on autopilot mode and enjoy it. You can boast your High Score record to your Friends.

    const autoloop = function() {

     if(window.Runner.instance_.tRex.jumping)
    {  requestAnimationFrame(autoloop);
    return;
    const tRexLocation = window.Runner.instance_.tRex.xPos;
    const cactus = window.Runner.instance_.horizon.obstacles;
    const nextCactus = cactus.find(o => o.xPos > tRexLocation);
    if(nextCactus && (nextCactus.xPos - tRexLocation) <= 120)
    window.Runner.instance_.tRex.startJump(50)
    }
    requestAnimationFrame(autoloop);
    }
    requestAnimationFrame(autoloop);

    Difference between Work Profile and Work Managed Devices in MDM world

    Work Managed vs Work Profile devices

    Work Profile vs Work Manged devices

    In my previous article, I'd mentioned about the different modes which MDM involves along with the difference between Enterprise Wipe, Device wipe and Enterprise Reset. During Recent change in strategy from Google, company is trying to focus more on the Work Managed mode and will have moved their focus out from Legacy i.e Device Admin mode. The Android 10 i.e Android Q and above version will be predominantly Android Enterprise mode supported.
    Let me try to explain, the difference between these two primary modes Work Managed and Work Profile.

    What are Work Managed Device :

     They are also referred as Android Work Managed or Device Owner  or Android for Work (AFW) . Device enrolled under this mode, gives entire control of the device to the MDM or to say - your IT Department. There are different method with which your company may enrol the device. The VMware WorkspaceOne UEM (earlier famously known as AirWatch) does have below different method of enrolment available.
    • Using AirWatch Relay to perform an NFC bump
    • Using a unique identifier or token code
    • Scanning a QR code
    • Using Zero Touch enrollment
    • Other specific to Rugged devices like Barcode enrollment for Zebra device via StageNow app

    Primarily, the device would be owned by company i.e Corporate Owned or Corporate Dedicated.
    So these devices and the data will be owned by the company after enrolled in Work Managed mode. Since the device is owned by the company that you work for , once you leave the company, Admin department can wipe the device which would Factory Reset the device. Factory resetting means getting all the data deleted from the device and device again become a fresh out of box as a new device. When it comes to un-enrolment, unenrolling the Work Managed Device Factory Resets it so device can be assigned to another user.

    What are Work Profile Devices:

    Work Profile Enrolled Device
     Device Enrolled in Work Profile
    It is also referred as Profile Owner. This method is mainly used on BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) devices where the company allows you to use your own device at work but along with your personal info your companies data can reside in parallel. This method would only work on Android devices which are Lollipop 5.0 and above. In words of Google, a Work Profile separates work apps and data on an Android device from personal apps and data. By default, work profile notifications and icons for apps installed in a work profile are marked with a work badge (briefcase icon) so you can
    distinguish them from personal apps. Refer the pic on the right, the Google Chrome has to icons, One with work badge and another at the homescreen without work badge. The work badge is the managed app by your company and company has all the rights to track its usage (ofcourse , if they want to) and personal one i.e without badge stays safe to use for your personal use. Work profiles allow an IT department of your company to securely manage a work environment without restricting users from using their device for personal apps and data.
    So, once your device is enrolled in Work Profile , if you leave the organisation, your IT department will un-enroll the device which will wipe i.e. delete the data owned by company without touching any of your personal data. Thus, in case of Work Profile enrolled device, unlike Work Managed,  the Device does not get Factory Reset (for obvious reasons), thus you can continue to use your device and not bothered by companies applied restriction profiles to your phone.

    There is a one more category to the list which is called Dedicated Device.
    These devices are basically owned by the company and are used for specific purpose. Devices like Kiosk, Ticket Printers device, Entry Exit managing devices. These devices do not need to have a person to operate as they will be standalone and will be in Lock Down mode, where only one app/screen will be shown to the device user. As the usage is within the single app or limited set of apps, the users are restricted to use any other option or change any settings on the device. From Airwatch, they have an application called as AirWatch Launcher which does perform these operations i.e keep the device user bound to one or few specific apps and not letting the customer edit or personalise the settings.

    For now, you try to remember these acronyms and I will add some more details about other mode like COPE in my future post. BYOD stands for Bring Your Own Device; CYOD stands for Choose Your Own Device; COPE stands for Company Owned/Personally Enabled; and COBO stands for Company Owned/Business Only.

    You can refer to this page for understanding what is Device Wipe and Enterprise Wipe

    Android Emulator Camera Surprise

    Android Emulator CameraWhile working on a emulator for android on Android Studio, I stumbled upon this surprise feature.
    The Android Emulator Camera will allow you to roam inside a predefined Room with your Emulator camera. You can snap of any item in the room or you can record a video with that simulated camera.
    Moving across the room is pretty simple.
    The feel of moving the camera as if you are really moving with your phone in hand is great.
    Try it yourself by Downloading the Android Studio and launching the Android emulator from the Studio.
